02Science meets longevity

Built for the years that matter most.

Too many joint supplements are one or two actives and a lot of filler. Ours is built from the research.

The BarkReserve Core pouch beside a level scoop of beef-coated granules

Turn a few around and the pattern repeats: a well-known name on the front, a token amount on the back, and the rest of the scoop there to make up the weight.

BarkReserve Core started from the other end. We read the published dog studies first, then built an all-in-one formula: seven actives, each with research in dogs behind it and a job to do, every amount printed on the pouch. The granule is mostly active, with collagen peptides as its body, and no sugar, glycerin, dairy, soft-chew binders or synthetic preservatives.

And it is layered in time. PEA and eggshell membrane were studied for change in the first weeks, green-lipped mussel carries the middle, and collagen peptides and UC-II do the slow, structural work that is still building at month three. All of it comes in one daily scoop of soft beef-liver granules that disappear into dinner.

03Meet the seven

Seven actives. Read the research, not the claims.

Researched before we formulated. Every ingredient was chosen from the published dog research. Here is the study behind each one, with a link to the paper.

  1. GELITA · Slow layer · month 3 and on

The body of the granule. Porcine type I peptides, the form used in the dog study. Supports healthy cartilage, tendons and ligaments, helping maintain strong, flexible joints and everyday mobility.

The oral intake of specific Bioactive Collagen Peptides (BCP) improves gait and quality of life in canine osteoarthritis patients: a translational large animal model for a nutritional therapy option.

  2. Medium layer · months 1–3

Whole freeze-dried New Zealand mussel, lipid content stated on every batch certificate. Naturally rich in marine nutrients that support joint comfort, flexibility and healthy movement.

Included at a real amount (25 mg per kg) from a plant-fermented, shellfish-free source. In dogs it has been studied with chondroitin, with mixed results across trials, so we make no claim for it on its own.

  7. Muscle · daily

Supports normal muscle metabolism in older dogs. Supports cellular energy production and healthy muscle function, helping dogs maintain strength and activity.

04How we formulate

Four rules, written into every scoop.

01 / 04

Every amount on the label.

Seven actives, each printed with its exact amount per scoop. No proprietary blend, nothing to take on trust.

As printed on the back of every pouch.

Active ingredients per scoop

  • Bioactive collagen peptides2,000 mg
  • Palmitoylethanolamide (PEA)200 mg
  • Plant-fermented glucosamine HCl250 mg
  • New Zealand green-lipped mussel190 mg
  • Eggshell membrane135 mg
  • L-carnitine L-tartrate100 mg
  • Undenatured type II collagen20 mg

05The formula, deconstructed

One granule.

Collagen peptides form the body of every granule. Six more actives sit inside it, and a thin beef-liver coating wraps the outside. Scroll to take it apart.

Particles drawn in proportion to each active’s weight per scoop. The coating ring is the flavour, kept apart from the actives.

06How long it takes

One formula, layered in time.

It is a routine, not a switch. Here is the honest curve. Each bar is how long an ingredient was given to dogs in its study, with a dot wherever the dogs were measured.

What to expect
Weeks 1–3The fast layer is at work. Most dogs just think dinner got better.
Weeks 4–8This is when owners in the ingredient studies tended to notice easier starts after rest.
Month 3 and onThe collagen layer keeps building. Daily use is the whole point.

Science, folded into breakfast.

Every day

A routine, not a switch.

The fast layer works in weeks; the collagen layer keeps building past month three. Daily is the whole point.

Every dog

One blend. Every breed.

The formula never changes between plans. Only the number of scoops does, set by your dog’s weight.

09Personalised dose

Dosed to the dog, not the pack.

The rule printed on every pouch: one level scoop per 10 kg (22 lb) of body weight, to the nearest half scoop, minimum one. Enter your dog’s weight to see the daily scoop and what it delivers; the quiz then builds the plan.

    10Our story

It started with the dog on the label.

The French Bulldog in the crest is real. She is the founder’s own dog, a merle Frenchie who hit her senior years the way most dogs do: a slower start after naps, a pause at the car door, walks that quietly got shorter.

So we did what any owner does and bought the joint supplements. Then we read the labels properly. The same few ingredients everywhere, amounts hidden behind “proprietary blend” or missing altogether, and the actives that the dog research actually points to either absent or present in a trace so the name could sit on the front. Ingredients there for stacking, not for the dog.

Researched with care, made with love: a supplement you can trust with the dog who is family.

    Better days. Built from within.

Sixty seconds tells you the right plan for your dog: the daily scoop, the pouch size and how often it ships.
